What metals do you buy?
We buy ALL metals -- except beer kegs, aerosol cans, steel cable, and propane tanks. See What We Buy for a detailed listing.
We also accept motor oil, transmission fluid, gasoline, and diesel fluid for proper disposal. However, such fluids have no salvage value.
We DO NOT accept tires, liquids, paper, plastic, glass, wood, TV's, computer monitors, and any hazardous material. See What We Buy for a detailed listing.
What are ferrous metals?
Metals made from iron ore. These metals have magnetic properties and can be identified with a magnet. They have a low salvage value per pound.

What are non-ferrous metals?
All metals that are not made from iron ore; i.e., all metals that are not ferrous. These metals DO NOT have magnetic properties and a magnet WILL NOT adhere to these metals. They have a high salvage value per pound.

What do you require?
1) That the scrap metal, or other materials, be delivered in a properly licensed vehicle.
2) That you have a valid driver's license or state/federal issued I.D. A copy is required as a theft prevention measure.
What is the process?
When you arrive at our yard, you will be directed to our state-certified scales. Our employees will evaluate your materials for their metal content, weigh them, and issue you a receipt. The receipt is then redeemed for cash at our service window.
Will you pick up my scrap metal at my home?
Pickups are available if you have a rather large quantity of scrap metal, enough to fill a roll-off container. In many cases an onsite visit and consultation can be arranged. Please call 828-693-4133 if you have a considerable amount of scrap metal.
What is the current value of scrap metal?

Prices are determined daily by the markets -- in the same manner as stock prices. We generally update our prices monthly but unusual fluctuations can cause more frequently updating.
Are you insured?
Yes, we are fully insured.
What are your hours of operation?
Our normal hours are 9-5 Monday through Friday. Special arrangements are available to contractors and industry for both delivery and pickups.
